Supporting Stroke Association NI
At Adrian's Slimming World, we are immensely proud to support and raise funds for the Stroke Association Northern Ireland. This incredible organisation is dedicated to helping individuals who have suffered a stroke, providing them with the support and resources they need to rebuild their lives.
Every penny raised in our group goes directly to the Northern Ireland branch, ensuring that our contributions make a tangible difference right here in our community. Whether it's funding a special outing, providing a warm breakfast, or offering a much-needed trip, our collective donations help bring joy and comfort to those on their journey to recovery.
It's heartwarming to see how even the smallest contributions can add up. Often, the spare change from our weekly membership fees finds its way into our charity box, and all those 5p coins truly do make a difference. Over the past few years, our group has raised an impressive £1,700 for this local charity, a testament to the generosity and kindness of our members.
We are also incredibly fortunate to have Anne Rowan, a valued member of our group, who serves as an Ambassador for the Stroke Association Northern Ireland. Anne's words remind us of the impact of our efforts:
"Thank you so much Adrian's Slimming World and all the wonderful members for your amazing donations! I’m an ambassador for the Stroke Association NI and a volunteer with 3 other great people! We support Stroke Survivors and meet weekly. It’s a lifeline for all of them. We are self funded so thanks to Adrian ,he has kept us going, allowing us to continue providing stimulating activities for the group members and also occasionally some special treats! Every penny goes straight to the group so thank you for your support and generosity! It’s greatly appreciated!"

Use of Raffle Tickets
At Adrian's Slimming World we use both sides of our raffle tickets and a random number generator to choose our number. We don't like wasting paper so this extends the use of our raffle tickets
Less use of Disposable Cups
At Adrian's Slimming World members are encouraged to bring their own cups to group, we know how hard it is to recycle waxed paper cups, so we prefer to keep their use to a minimum.
Walking to group
As part of our body magic programme in group members are encouraged to move more and what better way to save the planet and fuel emissions than walking to group!
